Brad Marks on Executive Recruiting: "When we start on a search, our clients and we develop this bionic human being in writing - this perfect person who has a cape and can leap off buildings. As the search progresses, we create new features together with the client and their perspective changes somewhat. Suddenly, that piece of paper is more like a police rendering than an etched-in-stone portrait of this caped wonder. The person the board eventually picks may not be like the first person they had in mind at all, and that's a good thing."
