Cloning Patent

May 17, 2002 12:30 PM

The University of Missouri owns a patent on human reproductive cloning.

There's even some debate as to whether the patent encompasses the clones themselves. It can't possibly hold up, but if it did, John Kilner likened it to slavery.

It's amazing to watch new technologies cause complete havoc in existing systems. Can you patent this? Can you copyright it? Who owns what? Should we ban it?

The only thing we do know, is the world will never be the same.
