"Has anyone unknown to you asked you to carry an item on this flight?"

"Have any of the items you are traveling with been out of your immediate control since the time you packed them?"

Airlines, under pressure to get the huge influx of customers choosing air travel boarded in a timely fashion, will stop asking these questions before passengers board.

The Dow closed down 23 points amid reports that Homeland Security Directory Tom Ridge will raise the Terrorism Threat Condition to orange.
