Dan Walters laments the problems with complex campaign finance reform laws. McCain/Feingold isn't working, and is just making it harder to unearth what's actually happening. The solution? No restrictions on money, but instantaneous Internet reporting. That way, at least we know where the money is going. California currently requires quarterly filings, and the FEC requires monthly.
