Looking to hire a web person

January 7, 2005 10:29 AM

If you can do just about everything related to building and maintaining web sites, are politically-minded, and want a perfect opportunity to use your skills to change the world, then you could be the person for this job.

This person will be responsible for launching four new web sites in the next six months as well as updating the Outfoxed and Uncovered movie websites. The focus will be standard stuff used in extraordinary ways: direct email campaigns, community building, blogs, and e-commerce. If your primary means of buildilng a site is using Adobe ImageReady, this is not the job for you.

The environment is Linux/Apache/PHP/MySQL. The existing websites are almost entirely static HTML pages, with the exception of an X-Cart e-commerce site.

This is a full time job. Our offices are in the Los Angeles area, but you do not have to work physically on site. If you're the right person, I don't care where you live.

We have a standard pay rate, and the person will be hired as a contractor, similar to a political campaign or independent movie production. Everyone here is paid well, but significantly less than if it was a corporate gig. We're not here for the money.

To apply, send me an email (my address is on the left) with why you're the right person, along with examples of working websites you've built and what your role was. I'll look at that first, then I'll read your resume.

Sounds perfect for me. Ill take it. I have a few updates I want to do to your site anyway so it'll work out well for both of us.
