The American Idol contestants signed their life away. Not entirely shocking, of course, but the degree to which the indentured servitude extends is pretty shocking. The producers are actually allowed to lie about the contestants, forever!

Can you imagine? Not only is there a 5 million dollar breach of contract if a contestant does something the producers don't like, but they could start making stuff up about the person, ultimately destroying their career.

At what price fame, indeed.
