Scorsesian: Trying to describe Paul Thomas Anderson’s "Magnolia" to someone who has never seen it is a lot like describing the colors of a rainbow to someone who can’t see. It is possible to use some descriptive words such as "vibrant" or "bright," but to get the feel and the visual texture of the rainbow requires the visual experience. The same is true of "Magnolia," Anderson’s tremendously audacious follow up to his 1997 masterpiece "Boogie Nights."
