NY Times: A Very Big E-Commerce Christmas -
Ashford.com, a site that sells luxury goods like expensive watches and diamond jewelry, offered free shipping for orders placed until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve -- and concluded that was not late enough.
"We had people calling and really wanting $3,000 watches at the last second," said Kenny Kurtzman, Ashford.com's chief executive. "So next season, we are going to have couriers standing by Christmas Eve."
