Upscale, Vaguely European Ambience

David Shields talks with Howard Schultz, Starbucks Chairman. "We want upscale, vaguely European ambience in which contemporary culture has been decontextualized, wrapped in a blanket of the dim past, made cozy, comfy, secure, palatable and attractive to the business class." This is only nauseating because it's so damn true.
