Administration in freefall, Bush up in the polls!?

March 15, 2004 9:58 AM

Political Wire points to a new poll showing Bush regaining traction now that people are realizing Kerry is a liberal:

The latest Rasmussen Reports Poll shows President Bush at 46% with Sen. John Kerry at 44%. "While the top-lines have changed little, there is movement beneath the surface. More voters now see Bush as conservative and Kerry as liberal than they did a few weeks ago."

It's a bit scary to see Bush gain in the polls while at the same time his administration is repeatedly getting outflanked politically by the Democratic assaults. Let's see where this settles out at as people get to know the senator a bit more.

Just confirms what you said earlier, Kerry is hardly the candidate the democrats should have fielded as a presidential contender. He and the rest of the party have had 3 months of near unlimited FREE airtime in addition to the "paid" airtime to bash Bush and his policies and Kerry's still 2 points behind.

Bush has only thrown a few soft balls with Kerry's proposed tax increase (Kerry can only argue on the size but won't even be specific on that) and he's crying foul. Wait till a few more Vietnam Vets get up and denounce Kerry and the endorsement from North Korea gets around (could this be one of the secret foreign leaders Kerry is refering to?). Kerry has one last shot at gaining momentum and that's his vice presidential choice. After that it's up to the terrorist to pull off a Spain like attack in hopes of influencing the election.

Shareef:

You are not looking at the complete picture. If we have learned anything from the 2000, it should be that you don't need a majority of votes, all you need to do is win a in a few key swing states.
So pretty much National polls mean far less than State Polls...Here is how a couple of Swing states are shaping up

In Swing State:
Ohio:
Kerry 45% Bush 41%
Florida:
Kerry 48% Bush 45%
Pennsylvania:
Kerry 45% Bush 44%

Don't forget that Nader is skewing the polls a bit....and theres no telling if he will even be on the ballot.

Kerry is not a liberal. He just happens to be more liberal than Bush.

Considering all the shitty things Bush has done in the past 4 years just imagine what he can screw up without worrying about re-election.

What the hell is wrong with you Americans, War on terror, give me a GOD damn break, you would really elect a man that has sent Americans to die for their freedom(as opposed to martyrdom) in a country that had WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION... NOPE. Not a drop. Killed over Ten THOUSAND Irakis (Thousands of which were < 14 years old.

You mean, there's a decision to make?
Try this on for size, the attack of an innocent country(in recent history), many killed, many wounded, many happy(Hussein gone), but many angry(if you lost your whole family, or your wife, or your only child, woudn't you want to pilot the next plan into the pentagon)

**CONSPIRACY THEORY ALERT-GENERAL BLANKET ALERT:-)
And here's a long shot, the CIA trained Ossama Bin Ladden, what if they still controlled him and this was all just a plot to kill 2 birds with one stone. Bird 1, revive the economy through war, Bird 2, revenge on Saddam Hussein for disolving his relationship with the US after THEY put him in power. Or maybe he's still a player too.

This is simply a conspiracy theory, but is it really imposible. You can read about how the CIA has perfomed government coups accross the world. Communism was and is a threat to the U.S. in the sens you can't sell stuff to a self reliant country who have no need for money.

There is no decision to make, you don't make friends with guns. A vote for Bush(nutty)= Bring it on terrorists. We see what our leadership has done and we approve. A vote for Kerry(corny) at least show that this will not stand, but the democrats were in bed with the Republicans since the begining of this war on terror, and Iraq.
Nutty and Corny, your choices of the Finest American S**T.
Nader is probably the best, most impartial and should be elected, but due to vote spliting or sharing, wouldn't win because idiots will still be voting for the other 2.
Look at how many problems americans have in they're own backyards thanks to gun violence. You paranoid that your neighbour will come over to your house and blow you away so you yourself get a gun, your neighbour sees you with your gun and gets one for himself. Makes you feel like a man to have one, gives you power, the power to take that suspicious looking stranger's life, not thinking that he is just like you and that's why he looks so suspicious.

Peace out, All around the world, if you guy's don't FK it up.

Air-Force "Liberals are Puppies who won't fight for shit"
Let's see George Bush dodged the draft by flying obsolete jets in Texas that could never be used in Vietnam
Cheney got 5 deferments because he said he had more important things to do.

John Kerry voluntered for Vietnam.
I think Bush and Cheney are the puppies.

Sat Aug 28 2004 8:06 PM

dhermesc:

Actually John Kerry did the following:

1. Applied for a deferment so that he could go study in (where else) France.

2. In 1966 he enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve - he did not enlist in the active navy. Shortly after his enlistment his unit was activated - much the same way national guard units where being activated.

Kerry did not "volunteer" to go to Vietnam, he just wasn't successful in avoiding service. As for Kerry's choice of Swift Boats, he told the Boston Globe last year, "I didn't really want to get involved in the war. When I signed up for the swift boats, they had very little to do with the war. They were engaged in coastal patrolling...."

Jim,
I don't know what you've been smokin' that would make you support a guy like John Kerry. He can't even remember how to recount his own lies. It will shortly be revealed that at least one of his medals is a total fraud. That is to say, the medal as he displays it on his web site is an impossibility since it has a "V" for valor which was never awarded by the US Navy. But, forget that; just listen to what the guy says and try to make any sense out of it. I would rather have a guy who stubbornly goes in the direction he believes is correct for the nation like
"W" than a guy like Kerry who has to have a focus group done before he takes a leak in the morning.
