O'Sexxxy Factor -- "hysterically funny"

October 27, 2004 9:06 PM

Bill Berkowitz has a great column out today on The O'Sexxxy Factor. Here's a quote from me:

I've been apathetic for a long time, figuring nothing I could do would make much of a difference, so why bother. But we're living in very historic times now, and I realized that even if I couldn't make a difference, I had to try just so I could sleep well at night.

One thing I wish I had added to that is that I'm now convinced one person really can make a difference if they try hard enough. I measure this by the hate mail I receive. For a long time -- even after Uncovered came out -- most of it carried a mocking tone: "you're a joke, your site is pathetic, and you should get a life." But as soon as Outfoxed blew up, it all changed. I actually remember the email where I realized this. The hate mailer said something to the effect of "If your efforts succeed in removing Bush from office, you will [insert something the hate mailer thought was really bad]." I was practically jumping up and down. Now I was a threat.

Anyway, keep the hate mail coming! I love it.

Paul:

I'm convinced that all our efforts, some great and some small, will not be for nothing. We have stopped the neoconservatives, and we will take our country back from them.

Jim Gilliam:

"If your efforts succeed in removing Bush from office, you will..."

You will what? Is there something missing from the end of that sentence?

Jim Gilliam:

Whoops. Yeah, there was supposed to be something after that. I put it in "<" instead of "[" so HTML gobbled it up.

Thanks Jim for just sticking through with it. Not cowing down to a bunch of ignorant people. Takes a lot of cajones.

Oh, I was thinking "If you succeed in removing Bush from office, you will...

[be able to sleep better at night.]

[live a longer and happier life.]

[be considered a great American hero.]

[feel hopeful about humanity.]

[party like it's 2000 and the last four years were just a bad dream.]"

I was thrilled to learn of O'Reilly's problems.
If ever there was an unfair person, it was that
ugly bastard. I never really believed he was so
"moral" all during his mean reporting day after day during the Clintion/Monica fiasco. Now it comes to light that he was just as horney as any
of the others he rediculed and tried to convince
all of us how bad they were, especially President
Clinton. I hope he loses his job - I really do!
