Right Wing Robby:

Using caskets of dead hero's for a politcal statement is beyond sick.

Tom from Madison:

Hiding the war dead to avoid accountability is the truly shameful act. This President keeps extolling the glory of his campaigns while failing to take responsibility for the consequences.

Death is the biggest consequence he refuses to deal with. Making excuses for a President who won't take responsibility is unpatriotic and beyond sick itself. This President is rightfully being scorned from the left, right, and center.

"Using caskets of dead hero's for a politcal statement is beyond sick."

This is the attitude that protracted the Vietnam war. This is the attitude that led to thousands more flag-draped caskets and thousands more shattered families. This is the attitude that continues to do the same here, today, with the Iraq occupation.

Guess what: War is politics. International politics, to be specific.

Going to war is necessarily a political decision. Supporting the war is necessarily a political decision. Maintaining a policy of concealing the nation's war dead is a political decision. Not estimating or reporting the total number of Iraqi civilian casualties is a political decision. The Mission Accomplished speech - 3 fucking years ago - was a political decision.

And what's truly sick is sweeping the reality of this war under the rug. Or stifling honest debate over course correction by lazily labeling it terrorist-sympathizing. Or turning the executive branch into a tyrannical constitution-shredding monster by manipulating the American people's legitimate fear. What the fuck are our men and women dying for, when we we don't even live up the democratic ideals we're trying to forcibly export?

That's what's sick. That's beyond sick.

Right Wing Robby:

Im sure if your dead son or daughter' body was being used to promote a conservative agenda, you would be just fine with that.

Doubt it.

Jim Gilliam:

Ummm... news flash, robby. All those dead sons and daughters ARE being used to promote a conservative agenda. actually, it's a little worse than that. not a conservative agenda, but Bush's agenda.

Right Wing Robby:

Respect the dead. If qhoring their dead bodies out for your political gain doesnt strike you as completely wrong, theres no sense even talkin about it.

Tom from Madison:

RWR:

simply showing a flag-draped coffin is not disrespectful.

You are being disrespectful when you accuse your political opponents of "whoring their dead bodies". The military, those who died in service to their country, and honored images of their coffins belong to all Americans, not just those that support the Bush agenda.

Those of us who oppose getting more senselessly killed owe it to our fellow Americans to remind us all of the consequences of Bush's policies.

After 3 years, mounting death, and endless war in sight, it is high time the President account for his actions.

Mike of the Great White North:

Don't know where else to post this, but seeing as how this thread is about Iraq, close enough.

Simply put i want wingers, and especially NJ, to read this and tell me if this is an isolated case, or more lib propogranda, or whatever. But this is exactly what i said would happen and you berated me for daring to impugn the rightous morality of the US military establishment.

Then ask yourself why they hate you and why the insurgency wont stop.

I will not go silent into this foul night .

We on the Left were correct about the illegal
invasion of a sovereign nation being disgraceful.

The war in Iraq is owned by All republicans &
the Corporate Media whores who sold America
a Pack of lies .

The Blood of American Soldiers will never
wash off Republicans hands .

The Blood of Iraqi children will never wash
off Republicans hands .

We Liberals Warned We Marched We Hollered
We Wrote books and Letters to the editor .

We were ridiculed as "America haters" by buffoons
parroting what their talking head master oxycontin-rush
said .

We were Correct and Freeper scum Know it .

Republicans are WEAK on National Security because
of short sided thoughtless conceded greedy motives .

I tried with all my might along with millions of others
to stave off the mistake of Invading Iraq .

I'm truly sorry that it wasn't enough.

I am Proud Patriot I love America
I love the People I love the Land
This is My Home I will protect it.
