New York Times: "After meeting with Mr. Bush at the White House, Senator Harry Reid, the incoming Senate majority leader, said 'the first order of business' when Democrats formally take over in January will be to reinvigorate Congressional scrutiny of the executive branch, with a focus on Iraq."

"Reinvigorate"?
More like resurrect from the dead.
And how bout this meida coverage since last Tuesday? They have no idea how to fit the facts into their traditionally narrow paradigm that the wimpy Dems lose elections and the brawny GOP are invincible geniuses.
But now we'll begin to see the GOP moderate itself, giving the minority right wing radicals the boot in a move toward the center (it'll be nice to see the sane ones again). The Dems will begin doing what they do best: governing.
And in the end, you gotta give some credit to ol King George. He definitely is responsible for spreading Democracy; he brought it back to Americans, who swelled in opposition to his now defunct conservative movement.
Speaking of right wing radicals and shellshocked conservatives, I wonder what Jim's little wingnut mascots are doing with themselves these days? Mirror-gazing and soul searching perhaps?
Here's a pointer, moving forward: don't ever ever endorse monopoly government ever again. Historically, nothing good has ever come from it.
And also take note of what your chief propagandist Rush Limbaugh declared after the massacre: he is done "carrying water" for the party. Read that as: he lied and lied and lied for the GOP. Lied like a rug, and his obviously cathartic post-mortum is something every wingnut needs to read over and over again, letting the meaning of his admission sink deeply into the wingnut psyche.
You've been totally had. Learn the lesson, begin thinking for yourselves, and don't let anyone manipulate your emotions ever again. In the meantime, let's all work toward becoming a united America again and facing the threat of terrorism united under the rule of law. There is much to do.
Peace.

Paul:
Limbaugh's confession was pretty remarkable. He fell out of character. I would have expected him to fall seamlessly back into his pre-2001 opposition role, but he was apparently too crushed to keep up the act.
